Our Commitment to Child Safety

At ShuleGram, the safety, privacy, and well-being of Children ("Learners") are the foundation of our platform. This policy outlines the specific, non-negotiable measures we take to protect every child using our services.

Safety by Design: Every feature is built with a child's protection as the primary requirement.

This policy supplements our main Data Protection Policy and should be read in conjunction with it.

Definition of a Child

For the purpose of this policy, a "Child" or "Learner" is any person under the age of 18 whose data is processed on the ShuleGram platform.

Core Principles

The Child's Best Interests are Paramount: All decisions regarding feature design and data handling are made with the child's best interests as the primary consideration.
Verifiable Parental Consent is Mandatory: No Child's profile is created or data processed without explicit, verifiable consent from a Parent or Legal Guardian.
Minimal Data Collection: We only collect and use the minimum amount of data necessary for the app's educational purpose.
Transparency and Control: Parents have full visibility and control over their child's data and digital footprint on the platform.
Zero Tolerance for Harm: We have zero tolerance for any form of bullying, harassment, exploitation, or harmful content.

Key Protective Measures

Account Creation and Verification
  • A Child cannot create their own account
  • Accounts for Learners are created by verified Teachers or Parents
  • Mandatory parental consent before profile activation
  • Teacher accounts verified against school records and TSC database
Strictly Controlled Visibility and Interaction

No Private Messaging
Moderated Interactions

A Child's profile, photos, videos, and showcased work are never publicly visible. Access is restricted to:

  • The Child's verified Parent(s)/Guardian(s)
  • Authorized Teachers and staff at the Child's school

All communication happens in the open, moderated feed connected to a post.

Advanced Media Safeguards
Facial Blurring

Automatic blurring in group photos for children without consent

View-Once Mode

Sensitive content viewable only once per recipient

Watermarking

All media imperceptibly watermarked with user ID

AI and Analytics with Guardrails
  • Purpose-limited AI strictly for educational support
  • Behavioral analytics for positive feedback only
  • No automated decision-making without human review
  • Never used for profiling or targeted advertising
Safe Marketplace (Parents Only)
  • Services marketplace is a parent-only feature
  • Learners cannot see, access, or interact with the marketplace
  • All service providers vetted (identity and qualifications verified)

Prohibited Conduct and Reporting

Strictly Prohibited:
Sharing abusive, bullying, sexually suggestive, or harmful content
Using the platform to harass or groom a Child
Attempting to contact a Child outside moderated channels
Downloading and redistributing a Child's image without permission
Report a Concern

We provide a simple, prominent "Report a Concern" button within the app. All reports are reviewed by our dedicated human moderation team within 24 hours.

Parental Rights and Controls

As a Parent, you have the right to:

Give, refuse, or withdraw consent at any time
Review all data we hold about your Child
Request correction or deletion of data
Control Learner Profile settings (10+ years)
Be notified of any breach or incident involving your Child's data
